Christmas 2009

Christmas was a little different this year. First it was the first time Cory had to work at Utah Valley on Christmas day. They have very strange shifts. He worked all night Christmas Eve, so our Christmas Eve festivities were held on the 23rd. Then we opened presents on Christmas morning without Shawn and Christi, before he had to go to work. It wasn't really our year for Christmas but Nick and Aiyden were able to come and Shawn and Christi didn't have anywhere to go , because her parents were going to Colorado to see her younger sister and her family for Christmas. So bizarre all the way around. But we made it work and had a lot of fun doing it!

Here I am with 3 out of 4 Grandkids. Mind you we've been doing projects all day and I don't even think I curled my hair or had make-up on. Why I'm putting this up there I don't even know!

They all worked really hard. Their personalities came out though. It was really fun to watch each of them and how they came up with their own design.

Shawn & Abby worked on hers. Then you just blow on the dots so they'll dry.
Aiyden picked a Christmas stocking. He was fast, first and had his on the tree!
Lucas with his finally painted snowman. They all did great!

The next project was a Gingerbread house, along with some trees. I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked. I was pretty messy, but the kids loved it and had fun. The hardest part, keeping Lucas and Aiyden from eating all of the parts!

Here we are with the fruits of our Labors! It was so much fun! I think they had fun, I did!

So it's Christmas Eve, (only it's the 23rd because of Cory's schedule this is how we had to do it. But it worked) So after the fun day well it's PJ time. Abby got Hannah Montana, who she loves,(yep, she can do the ho down dance!) So when she got hers she ran in the bathroom and immediately put them on. I almost hate putting this photo up. It doesn't do justice to how cute Abby is! But I think you can tell how happy she was with hers and she ran out to show us!

Right now 3 months later, I have not idea what are on Lucas' PJ's. But he seems pretty happy, so I think I chose wisely.

I believe Aiyden got Ben 10. A game for the Wii. He seems ok with my choice.
Scooby Drew got Mario, because they didn't have Scooby Doo in his size!
Em got Snoopy and the Charlie Brown gang. She's so happy because of the pants, they are fleece and so warm and soft. We all have some now! Shawn and Christi, Cory and I have Grinch.
Yep. Even Nick got some. Couldn't resist. Stewie from Family Guy! So Nick.
Story: Cory hates Uno. Uno attack broke and he was very Happy. But I found the latest version, UNO FLASH! He is so excited, I had to tell him to stop smiling.

This was a gift for Drew and Cory to share. They both have been working out. Drew is so dedicated it's amazing. He's been doing his own work out for about a year now and you can really tell. But I thought they'd like this and they use it all the time. I did good!

My Mom is here with Christi. We got her some Christmas trees for next year. That sounds boring, but she's hard to buy for and I knew she'd like these.

Abby is so adorable and funny. This is a sweater I had a friend knit for her. She loves the bright colors,(I think Shawn wanted one too!) But this little girls LOVES little things, the smaller the better. If you give her a purse or box to put them in then you've hit the mother load with Abby! She's awesome! She might even still have some of these left. She's pretty good at keeping them.

Here's Lucas opening up something, who knows, it's small and they alway get a lot of little things. But he and Abby we're happy with all their stuff! All in all, I believe everyone was.

We were so happy Nick and Aiyden got to come from California. We missed Scarlet, but next year, it's our year. Divorce bites, big time. But handle what's thrown at you and she'll be here next year, hopefully along with Alex and Zoey! We missed them a lot, as well!

Ok, love this story. Emma spent the better part of 6 months telling me all the reasons she needed a new laptop. She had an old one that she was using and I told her all through the months of Oct. Nov. and Dec. that we didn't have the money to get them both one and that Drew needed it for school and she didn't. So here is Drew getting his, and you can see in the back how Emma feels about this. Little did she realize I had wrapped hers in a different box.(They should know by now, wouldn't you think?) But she had to try really hard for about 5 min. to keep from either crying or screaming! But she was all the more happy, as you can see.

Emma opening a big box, now she knows what I did and she got one too! You had to be there to fully enjoy this moment. Hilarious! I really thought she was going to lose it before she got to this box. Quite entertaining to watch!

A sleeve for Em's new Laptop! So much relief on her face! She's so happy! So am I. I get to use my computer now and it's great!
Yah! Books for Nick, my kids are such great actors.(Well, one of them is at least!)
A snuggi for Christi! Everyone mocked me, but Shawn got her one as well, and she uses both of them all the time! That sounds like a great gift to me!

We gave Shawn and Christi a poker set, so they can play at their house, as well as ours. No worries, no money changing hands, just watching peoples chips drop drastically is enough for us! We aren't that hard to please or to entertain are we?

As you can see Cory has his scrubs on and is ready to run out the door, so we're hurrying and this was the last gift. Shawn is writing a novel and this is the first draft. A great gift for a father who also has written a novel. Very proud! Now they are both sanding. Cory's been sanding his book for about 8 years now. Maybe one day he will finish it to his liking. That's all he's shooting for. So in spite of all the weirdness, it was fun and great to have most of the family around! We did miss Alex and Zoey and Scarlet, but here's looking forward to next year!

Thanksgiving 2009

This Thanksgiving this is what we woke up to! Yes it's a Hot Air Balloon parked at the end of my sidewalk. Emma came running downstairs and woke us up to see it. It really was quite cool. The fly around here all the time and we've watched them land a couple of times, but never this close! This picture is taken from the front window in the piano room. It was really fun to watch people get out, then more got in and then off they flew. When they took off. (We went back to bed, not thinking clearly) they flew right over our house and the balloon completely filled Emma's window upstairs. I wish I hadn't gone to bed and got that shot. It would have been fantastic! She said it really just filled her whole window up. I can't believe they can do that and be that close to my house and not hit something! It was a great way to start the day of Thanks!

So here we are in Grandma and Grandpa'a garage and here are Drew and Em with their cousins, Jordan and Marcus. Jordan just left this morning for the Army Reserves training and won't be home for 6 months!(It's Jan. 19th) I already miss him!
Now some little ones. We've got Chloe, Ella, Nomers(Naomi) and Jaden! All giving very tight squeezes!
Here are Cory's parents, Jerry and Jackie and Jerry's Mom, Grandma Fullmer. She just turned 90 about 2 weeks before this Thanksgiving!
Now here is Cory's little Brother(ha, ha!) and the soon to be newest member of the family, Krista! They are getting married on April 9th and we can't wait and are very excited, she's fantastic and we all think they are perfect for each other and we love her! Welcome Krista!
Here is a picture of Cory's youngest sister Jana with her hubby Ed.

Here is his other sister Lisa and her husband, Tony. Jordan and Marcus are her boys. You could probably figure that out by looking at them. Jordan actually looks almost identical to Cory when he was that ages.

I call this another "Like Father Like Son!" moment! Sad part is, we have so many sons!

Here are the 4 of us. All the other boys had to be other places this year. So it was just Cory and I with Em and Drew! But we had a great time, just wished the other kids could have come!

Before it got too cold we decided to take a ride up the canyon to the top. You can see Heber and Midway when you get there. I should have stopped and taken pictures on the way up, it was pretty. It was also cold and Emma wasn't feeling well, but she still wanted to come. So we pretty much just hurried up, took pictures, and hurried down. Still fun just really, really, really, fast! If you know any of us Boyles, you know we're ok with driving fast, so not that much of a problem.

Em, Drew and I at the top. I love helmets shots. Who is who? This could be just some random people that we don't even know, yet we always take them? It's just a pain to take them off and put them back on. We're lazy, I admit it!
Bunny Ears really? At first I thought this was Cory, because he does this whenever he isn't watched, closely. Then looking closer you can see it's Drew in the background. That's my family, and I love them. What can I say?!
So this is me at the top and there is Midway in the background. You can't really see it, but we could and it was really pretty and it was a fun. We're lucky to live so close. It takes us about 15 minutes to get to up there and after living here 5 years(5 years next week actually, yikes!) this year we really took advantage of it. We've got a yearly pass and we still go up a couple times a month. It's really beautiful covered with snow. Actually it's breathtakingly beautiful! I just need to remember to take the camera next time we go up.
So I need a picture of Drew and Em. Em drove up, so Drew got to drive down. So I couldn't see Emma and told her so. This is the shot I got. She was a little out of it, but I like the shot.
One of my favorite things is watching Cory put the ATV's back in the trailer. You just never know. It's very manly, in fact, so manly in fact that he really is the only one who can do it. (whatever). I will admit when we have 3 bikes on there it's dicey and I wouldn't do it. We need a bigger trailer. I think it might be on the list for next year. We have a lot of trips planned (Alex is in a play next month, Em and I are college scouting and we might do London to see Alex over there with his Masters program), so we'll see if we have money left over for a bigger trailer and another 1 or 2 ATV's. It would be great and we do love them. So we'll see. (We missed a really good deal on 2 this year, that a man down the street was selling and we're kicking ourselves!) I hate when that happens. You think about it about 30 minutes too long and there gone.
Ok, best shot of the day! I wish I could zoom in on Emma's face. All around her goggles her face is covered in dirt. It was hilarious, and she already felt like crap. She was right behind Cory and I on the way up, and she was literally eating our dust. Or at least absorbing it. This pictures says it all! "Wow, I'm so glad I came, this was great! Please lets go again, I can't wait!"
So good times had by all. I too was covered in dirt and Cory must have really had a good time. That smile look like it's hurting him(I'm pretty sure it's hurting me!). It really was a great day.

Fall Photo Shoot!

We headed up the canyon to take photo's because Emma missed school photos and I wanted some for the family room. It was a beautiful day and there were probably 300 cars up there doing the same thing. We came up with a few good ones and these are the ones I like the best. My kids would choose others, but....

I never like photo's of me, but I didn't hate this one and I think Emma looks absolutely beautiful! I wish I were as photogenic as she is.

Emma and I being Emma and I. Shawn wanted us to look casual and this was what we came up with. We're just goofy, the whole lot of us!
One of my favorite shots of the year! Drew's look on his face is priceless. Basically it's, "Really Mom, you are ridiculous!"
This was about as good as it was going to get and it actually looks like Drew and that is good enough for me! He is who he is and he's fantastic!
I like this one a lot and it ended up framed in the family room with the one of Drew. We got a lot of good shots.
I really love this of Drew, he was having trouble smiling(see above) so finally Shawn took this one and it reminds me of the, fink, fink, fink days, when he was younger(like 4 or 5) and you'd ask him a question, he would actually touch his chin and tap it and say,"fink, fink, fink!" That was durring our trouble with his TH sound. Cute story, he came home from school, 1st grade and said,"Mom, they want me to do Speech Therapy. They think I have trouble with my vas, and vers. (the and there's). Do you think I need it?" I almost peed my pants!
I LOVE this shot of Emma! She's not crazy about it, but what teenage girl ever like photo's of themselves. Once in a while she'll say,"I guess that ones ok."
We were trying to get Lucas to look at us and he just kept looking down. In his defense, he didn't feel great. So this is what it came down to. Pretty much everyone holding his head up! Abby was the first one to try it and it was funny, watching her try and keep his head up. What a good little sister and she's already IN CHARGE!

Here's Lucas and Abby. Lucas actually kept his head up for this shot and I love it because you can see the missing teeth and now the 2 huge ones are coming in. It's an attractive stage in life, right! Your cute little kids, turn into I don't know Alienish looking things! Still cute, but different cute and they no longer look like your little babies.

Puerto Vallarta Sept. 2009

Here is our Hotel. (I took this shot Parasailing!) It's the Riu Palace. We had never stayed there before, but got a great last minute deal and it was very nice. I wouldn't take the kids, they don't have a lot for kids to do on site. For us it was great! They actually had decent food too. Very unusual for an all inclusive resort.

What do we do first? Head straight to the pool, looking out over the ocean!

Cory feels the need to get in the ocean, I having been tossed around by

the Pacific a few times, feel no need. I love looking at it and being around it,

and occasionally walking in it. But I don't want to be killed by waves! (Although

snorkeling is my favorite, and I'm going to get certified to go diving with Cory.)

Here is a great shot of my hubby and the Hotel. Our room is pretty much right

above Cory's head in this shot!
It was all inclusive, so we ate way to much. That's what vacation are for right?
We usually spend most of our time at the resort, just relaxing, because our lives

are so crazy. This time though I'm not sure what got into us, but we were quite adventurous! Sailing is one of Cory's favorite things! So this is just a little catamaran they had at the hotel but it was a riot! The water was warm and the weather was perfect. We stayed out there quite a while and had a great time. He's gotten a lot better, (funny story for another time! Ask his mother, or the Florida Coast Guard!) Ok, not the Coast Guard, but there was a rescue involved. I've said too much. Sorry, moving on.

I LOVE THIS SHOT! Funny part is I took it. Who knew?
Here I am doing nothing but enjoying the ride and trying not to get hit in the head when we change directions and swing the sail thingy across! (Thingy is a sailing term)
Now we are going crazy. I had never parasailed. The kids had gone and Cory, but for some reason,maybe I was a little scared,(maybe a lot!) but this was my first time. Cory runs up to me at the pool and says "come on their ready for you!" Ready for what? So off I go and, well I LOVED IT! As soon as I landed I told him, please, go get more money! I want to do it again and take the waterproof camera with me. He laughed, ran and got more money and the guys running this thing were shocked! Maybe because I had been a little hesitant. But for going again, they gave me a longer rope and more time. It was fantastic!
So now I have the camera and here's the boat pulling me. You're higher than this looks!
So I thought I have to have proof that I did this. I tried to take this of myself and it worked, but how much cooler would it have been if I had held the camera down and looked up so you could actually see the parachute behind me. Hindsight right?
Cory is taking this shot of me coming in for my landing. Now you have to know, you have about 30 to 40 feet between buildings and water to land in. The people that did it right after me didn't fare so well. You should have heard the screaming that was going on by the guys running this thing. It made me look good and I really wasn't.
But I totally nailed it!
Then we took a boat out to go snorkeling,(not unusual, we almost alway do that). This time though they had horseback riding with it. I have been begging my husband for the better part of 30 years to get on a horse. I love them, grew up with them, and he's been on one, once. So he gave in and said he would do it for me! Shocked and amazed! I still am shocked just looking at the pictures.
He loves underwater shots. So here he is.........SNORKELING UNDERWATER!
Here we are after snorkeling, back on the boat. We snorkeled around those little islands and through a little opening that divided two of them. Not the best snorkeling, but still fun. It was a beautiful day and the water was warm. What's not to like?
Here are just some random shots of the pool and the hotel. That's me, way over there. There is a reason that's the closest I'm going to get. I look like a drowned rat when I get wet. It's not pretty.
THAT'S MY MAN!
After snorkeling we went to a part of the area that you can only get to by boat. We rode the horses up this little canyon to this waterfall. Not to huge or anything, but pretty and then we found out you could swim(and by you, I mean everyone but me) up to the waterfall and then slide down it! Of course he had to do it.
Here he is standing, I guess in and underneath the waterfall. Having fun and that's all that mattered.
Getting ready for the slide. I think scarier than he thought! But everyone else is doing it. Peer pressure, what you gonna do?!
He did it! Now you have to use all your strength to get back. Not easy! That's why I'm the one taking pictures.

So our last adventure of the week. Zip-lining thru the jungle. Oh my gosh, so much fun! These were out guides and camera man. If I could have climbed the mountain again, when we were done, I would have gone immediately! LOVED IT! These guys were a riot. So I guess this is a picture they always do. Pick up the husband. Well, I'm like what's with that? I'm not big, I want a picture too! So below is mine.

When I said I want my picture, JJ(the kid in black who picked me up) he just laughed and said,"I Love my job!" It really was so much fun. I seriously can't wait to do it again. I want to take the whole family down there. We had such a good time!

Staycation Aug. 2009

Ok, so this year we looked at houses to rent in Southern California to take everyone to and

it was going to cost us a fortune just for a big enough house. So we decided "STAYCATION 09!"

First thing we and by we I mean everyone but me, (no way my legs would do that") went to Timp Cave. By the pictures I think they had a really good time. So this is the week in a nutshell leaving out cards, eating out, watching movies downstairs on the big screen, playing cards and playing pool, and even playing the piano for some. It was a fun week!

My family-Alex, Emma(we'll discuss her outfit later) Christi, Abby, Shawn, Zoey and Drew!
Em and her Dad. She always looks so afraid, can't really tell is she's having fun, looks like Cory is though, so that's good!
Drew, he can sleep anywhere, anytime. Actually he's just being Drew which is a good thing!
This was Emma's hooker outfit for the hike. I don't know who she thought was going to be up there on the mountain and quite frankly I'm afraid to ask.
So I told you Christi tries to hide, but this one is good and I'm pretty sure she's going to kill me.

Ok, voted Best Picture of the Day(Emma's hooker shot, came in a very close second) The worlds best, and coolest uncle Drewski! I love this shot. It's so Drew and they adore him.

Ok, now slow start, what to do, what to do, if all else fails we go bowling! We are a really boring family aren't we? I'm so sorry!
I thought I'd start with a picture with someone who can bowl. That would be Alex. He looks like a pro huh? Pro Bowler I mean. Nice form!
This is how I would bowl if I could pick up the ball, so I'll just let Abby bowl for me. Go Abby!
For those of you who haven't met Shawn and Christi's son, this is Lucas Urkel. Hilarious right?
When I could pick up a bowling ball, this is just what I looked like bowling..........but
It paid off. I know, right? She got a strike. No one was more shocked than Em. No I think everyone was shocked actually!
That's our Drew, he's got style! I think he got points too!
The best for last.....my man. Look at him go. He's still got it!

Next stop was Lagoon! It was the perfect day. Not to hot, not to cold and no rain. We had a great time and I even rode a ton of stuff. After my success on the cruise with the patch, I had Cory call me in one and it worked. I didn't get sick or nottin. Luckily I had an extra, Christi needed it before I got there. Once she put it on though she got better and all was well
They look excited, I think Cory is on the end having a heart attack at how much that just cost him to get everyone into Lagoon. Just keep saying we didn't rent a house, we didn't rent a house, so you saved money! He's just not the optimist that I am.
Here we go again. Roller Coasters I can do. Spinning things that make you puke, uh no thanks!
Lucas wanted to ride this ride all by himself and he was great. The whole day he and Abby had a ball and I think they would have ridden everything if they could have.
Ok, didn't everyone love this as a kid? It's still they're favorite! Every time.
Lucas, has a certain gleam, it's a little scary and if you see it, make yourself scarce. Abby wasn't fast enough and took a lot of hits that day.
Ok, so we took this picture to prove I rode this ride, but really I could just stand under the sign and say oh yah I did. I'm saying right now, the truth is in my hair. It didn't look like that before!
Love this photo! In the top 5 for the week. The kids did so great. We really missed Nick and Aiyden and Scarlett. At the last minute he couldn't come, because of work. It happens to much!

What do I need to say about this cute face, except I wish Scarlet were there with her!
Ok, we are really Grandparents now. Abby wanted to ride this. No one wanted to go. So we stepped in! That's right and we'd ride it with any one of you too!

Now a Utah trip for my kids who don't live here would not be the same, without a trip to Little Sarah. It really is such a fun place to ride the ATV's. It's worth all the dirt. Nuff said!

I'm just guessing but I think Emma's team just won the game of Schmendrict! It's our own game and our own name, so really don't hurt yourself trying to figure out this game. Unless you've played it with us, you will know it as Ladder Ball or some other name. Long story short. Cory's Dad made all the fathers and father's to be this game out of plastic tubing and golf balls and string long before it came out in the stores. He could have been a rich man, because we love it!

Well that's it for "STAYCATION 09! It really was fun, but hopefully next summer Alex is in London and we'll head over there to see he and Zoey. It's part of his masters program in Theatre to spend the summer over there working with some company that I don't remember!

Sorry Alex, when I remember it though, I will shout it out, ok? I really love my goofy family!

New River Kayaks at Tibble Fork July 2009

Great photo to start with. The kids on this small resevior.

We're idiots really, It's about 15 to 20 minutes from our house!

We went up for the afternoon with Shawn and Christy and the kids.

then Phil and Barb joined us later on in the day. Tons of fun!

Probably the one and only picture you'll see of Abby in a 2 piece suit!

Her parents forgot hers, so this was the improv. Old Lucas shorts I had

and Emma's top that is tied tightly around her neck and back!

I had to get at least one picture because I knew it might be the last.
Ok, I knew Shawn and Christi were with us, but this is the only

one I could find with a face and Christi always had her back

to the camera! I think she did it on purpose. She does things like that!

She's very sneaky! But here is Shawn and Lucas.

Moab July 2009

Ok we decided we had heard enough great stuff about Moab

and we just need to go see for ourselves. Shawn and Christi

decided to go with us. They wanted to camp, I wanted to laugh!

So they camped about 10 or 15 minutes from the Inn we stayed at.

All in all we had a fantastic time and cannot wait to go again.

Learned some things though. Never camp down there in summer!

Stay a little closer to Moab. Although we liked our little Inn.

It was about 20 minutes from town and that was a pain at times.

It was absolutely beautiful and we had the greatest time.

I cannot believe that Cory nor I had ever been there.

I took over 100 photos, so consider yourselves lucky!

It could have been so much longer.

We are going back in October!

I will try not to take to many photo's.

Here we are, our first trip to Moab!

We had most of the basement of the Inn.

Not the best decor, but very friendly,

and for the price we paid it was worth it!

Our little Inn had a family room off both of the bedrooms!

With a lot of kitchen stuff in it as well and yummy breakfast every morning!

Rafting was so much fun that we came home

and went to Cabella's and bought some kayak's .

Before I got to get in the raft, I was told, by my very protective husband,

"all you do is sit next to Abby and make sure she doesn't

fall in." He wouldn't even let me hold a paddle.

My adorable daughter went to Reams and got

I had to get an XL in girls but I'm ok with that

and the gesture was adorable.

Of course we will probably never wear them again.

That's ok, it's the thought that counts, right?

Ashland Trip June 2009

This is the house we rented and I would go back every year!

It looked like it was mine on the inside and we loved it! It was also cheaper

than any of the B&B's and hotels to fit so many people. Perfect.

But I won't bore you with a bunch of pictures of the inside. I have them,

I just won't bore you with them!

All of us on the Bridge! We do love Ashland and

this was Drew and Em's first trip!

Ok, here are the men on the Bridge!

We actually went to Ashland to see some play's

and to go Water Rafting! Here are Em and Drew

in the outdoor theatre. It was the only picture we got.

Cory got in trouble for taking this one, but I'm glad he got it!

We saw "Much Ado About Nothing" that night and it was great!

Cory would sit outside the front of the house and

play guitar and fill up Scarlet's watering bucket to

water the flowers. So cute, I wasn't fast enough to get a picture

of him though and he would not pose!

This is Scarlet and I after her bath! Just looking

at her makes me smile!

The house had a great Fire Pit out back that you

flipped a switch and TaDa! Fire! It was fun and the next

night we roasted marshmellows and had smores!

hear the voice that goes with it? It's so high when she

cries I swear that only dogs can hear it!

Aiyden was pretty much stuck to Drew through

the whole trip! He loves his uncle Drew!

Aiyden just wanted to roast marshmellows,

he's a lot like his Dad with wanting to just play and

be around fire. A little scary, but it is an age thing as well!

The house had a baby grand, which Emma loved,

and Aiyden and Scarlet made some noise on.

They had fun!

Scarlet loves make-up and I don't think Nick

shares his with her very often! He's selfish that way!

Em and Scarlet bonded over music, here she is

sharing headphones and learning "Beautiful Girl".

If you have a teenage girl you know the song and we

even got her to do the cry, cry, cry actions and lie, lie, lie actions!

I love this picture! This is so Scarlet and Aiyden is all

serious so you can see the little monster we just bought!

You can see I had to tickle Aiyden to get a smile

out of him on this shot.

This is great of Nick with his kids!

Here is everyone in downtown Ashland. What a great city!

It's on our list of possible retirement places!

To understand this picture you have to know we spent

the morning shopping with Aiyden and Scarlet, then the guys

and the little ones went back to the house to eat and we power shopped!

Between the two of us we were exhausted!

This little alcove is where Drew and Aiyden slept!

It was a really cool little corner and I forgot to take a

picture of the outside! Trust me it was cool!

Funny story though, as soon as we got there Aiyden grabbed

his suitcase and dragged it upstairs and said "I picked my room!"

It was the master suite! Good try!

Em texting(no way!) in HER room. She liked it

so much we're re-doing her room again! I would complain

but I like doing it so much that I don't care and am actually

excited about it!

Drew and Shawn get Blue Belts!

A few years back Shawn decided to take Karate with Drew

and I have to say it's been great! He has

a really great relationship with Drew and they have

so much fun together. It's even been profitable for Shawn.

Their teacher, Garn, teaches at UVU down in Provo across

from Shawn's real job and starting last fall Shawn taught beginning

Kenpo Karate and then the second semester they added on

Women Self Defense! He even gets paid and he just

takes a long lunch on Tues. and Thurs. Shawn has

some tough jobs! Draws cartoons all day and then

teaches Karate on the side to make some extra money!

It' s tough, but someone has to do it, right Shawn?!

I actually made them do a couple of these moves

because I didn't have great shots during the test!

They were both thrilled!

I think they both really enjoy beating each other up!

They did it!

Our Cruise to parts of the Caribbean May 2009

No turning back now! I'm on the Ship and that's Miami in

the background. I was so worried I would ruin it for Cory and get sick

but I did great! We had the best time and it was much needed!

Cory took this of me to get a picture of the tail of the boat!

I think it looks pretty cool. Like a whale!

I should have thrown this picture in sooner. We were at

dinner one night and one of the couples we sat with took it.

I don't look good, but look at Cory, he's gorgeous! He smiled and everything!

Cory will eat just about anything! We had lunch while

waiting to leave Port.

Here I am on the deck waiting to leave Miami!

So here was the best entertainment on the Ship, our waiter!

Every night they either sang or danced. Our table is to the left of him.

We sat with 3 very fun and interesting couples and we were right behind the captains table!

There were only 5 or 6 of the waiters who actually got to go on the podiums and dance

and ours was one of them. He was great and made dinner fun every night!

I'm not sure what he said, but this is the one where I laughed. I

made him take another one. I don't think it's any better. I'm not that photogenic!

So this is the one where I wasn't laughing. The other one is funnier!

This is Cory on our deck looking at the Bahamas. This was where

we finally got to snorkel. But it was seriously freezing and the wake

was huge so by the time we got back to the Ship, I couldn't even walk!

My legs were killing me! It was so fun though, it was worth it!

Here I am sitting on an anchor, I'm not sure why,

Cory just wanted me to. That is our Ship in the back.

Here's Cory on the boat getting ready to go out and snorkel. He did

get to dive a couple of days earlier, so he was happy! I went to

the Spa on the Ship that day. I was Happy!

We are on a Catamaran going out to snorkel about an hour

off the shore. We actually saw some sun that day!

This our boat at one of the shores. I can't remember which one.

I'm old, give me a break!

This is our balcony off the suite. It had a table and 2 little chairs

and we usually ordered breakfast in every morning and sat out there!

Until the smokers on both sides of us woke up and went out there to smoke!

(They need to have non-smoking decks as well as rooms)

Here I am in our really spacious room on the couch. Actually we had a

Queen Suite and got a great deal, because it was last minute and it was perfect!

Now if I had 2 kids sleeping on that couch I would have jumped ship, but for us,

it was perfect!

I wanted Cory to lay on the bed looking sexy, This is

what I got! Then Shawn reminded me that it really was his best side!

This was my personal favorite towel animal that they made us.

I wish I had taken pictures of them all. I guess you can go on line

and buy the book on how to make them. I just might have to do

that so that when you come and stay with us, I'll make you a towel animal!

Cory hiding behind the bed(I don't know why) but we loved

all the little towel animals they made ever night!

There is our Ship, out behind Cory. The weather pretty much

looked like this all week, but I didn't care. I was away and I didn't

even feel sick once, so for me it was a huge success and I had a great time!

Yep, that is my Man!

The same day we swam with the rays, (coming soon) they cancelled a couple

of other things we had lined up. So we just hung out at the beach! Fun

but not as great as snorkeling or parasailing!

It was so fun! It sounded a little lame, but we got to feed them squid,

and touch them, ( I got to touch them a little too much, they kept trying to get out of our little

circle through me and it was yucky! Best part ever, Cory getting ready to take a picture

as she lifted them up so you could see their bottom side and he sprayed Cory right in the face!

I almost peed my pants and Cory was the first one they did it to, so it totally caught him off guard! Absolutely hilarious! Loved it!

If you ask me, this is a brave move on my part putting

this photo up! But I love snorkeling and seeing the rays,

well it was just great! So here I am looking like a drowned rat!

Mother's Day 2009

Drew gave me an amazing Cruise survival kit, which inlcluded

the lovely hat, matching pink flamingo beach towel,

fantastic Zebra classes(Emma loves them and wears them all the time!)

sunblock and then most importantly dramamine and a Barf Bag just in case!

Shawn of course ended up with the hat! I think it's in his

art studio at work, giving him inspiration!

they were just pretty and I knew a perfect spot in her house for them!

It was a great day, the only thing that would have made

Spring Break with Alex and Zoey March 2009

In March I was lucky enough to go over to Chico to see my son

and his cute kids, yes my grandchildren, (I have 2 more in Utah)

It was a great trip and it happened to be Aiyden's Birthday

as well! Plus I stayed with Foglemans and I love them and I

go to see a bunch of people that I love and miss so much!

Grandparent's Day 2009

We had the pleasure of going to Lucas' Grandparents Day

at his Kindergarten class. It was fun and hilarious!

One of my favorite moments was when the teacher was

talking about the kids and they were reading, she mentioned

how well they were reading for 5 year olds and Lucas

very politely said,"Actually I'm 6 years old!"

It was great!

The kids sang a few songs and played instruments!

(Yes these sticks are instruments!)

They kept us very busy! We really could have been there about

5 or 6 hours with all they wanted to show us and do!

Lucas and I made amazing lookey things! Not even

sure what we were supposed to look at?

Doing stations with Lucas(and Abby!)

Abby could have done the whole program with them.

She knew all the songs and knew all the stations.

She was actually livid because she knew it all and it

wasn't about her! She's just so smart, she watches Lucas

practice at home and she's got it. I don't know how

they are going to keep her busy for another year and a half!

Cory took Emma and Drew to learn how to Ski! This was their first

time and they had a great time, for the most part!

All in all a great Father outing with the kids!

Cory was on the Ski lift and was supposed to take a picture of

them skiing and they posed like this instead! They waited for

about 5 minutes and people were concerned they were hurt!

Actually they were just freezing waiting for him to show up!

During Christmas break, we took a break and went Ice Skating! Tons of fun

and it was a first for Lucas and Abby. (Cory was working of course!)

Big Boyles Christmas 2008

This is Christmas for Toby! Hiding from all the Grandkids and the other dogs!

The New Mr. and Mrs. Boyles and their addition Copper!

We told Scarlet that she would get Candy if she smiled and this is the picture that came out of that. Isn't it great!

Our house looked like this most of Christmas week and we did have some fun in it!

Someone had to show Aiyden and Scarlett how to do snow angels and I stepped up

This year was Cory's 50th and well lets just say

I'm much younger! But we had tickets to a Jazz

game the night of his birthday and so I had to be

creative and we had a surprise lunch! I threw it

together at the last minute and I knew I wouldn't

even get him over there if I didn't have an excuse,

so I told him we were meeting his parents at Porters

for lunch. So when we pull up, he says "that car looks

just like your Moms", and there are a lot of cars that are

like that so I just say yah, it kinda does. Then we

realize we can't park there but there is a spot right in

front of the car, that looks just like my Mom's. So we

pull around that car and there is Shawn's car! Needless

to say, it wasn't a surprise anymore! We both had great

birthday's though!

How would you like to wake up to

this every morning?!

We started out with a friend who cuts her

hair, so we had her try and style it.... but this friend

LOVES big hair, so we had to do some fixing!

was last so it wasn't easy!

Alex getting his name read, but trying to be funny wrote on
the card you give the announcer-Alex boils Water, so the man
looked at Alex figured boils was what he was trying to throw
in to be funny and he announced Alex Waters! We weren't
even sure it was him! Then soon figured it out. He had
friends all day asking him if his real name was Alex Waters!

But Mom I tried to be funny! I still graduated!

Could we BE any HAPPIER! I don't think so
and he did it in 4 years no less,with a Presidential
Scholarship that was amazing. We really are very proud
and trying to figure out who screwed up at the hospital
but not telling anyone if they did, because we don't want
to give him back!

and she was amazing. Rave reviews all the way around. But you
can call her by her nickname "FRED"!

Yes, she's Fred! Megan got the second female lead
as Larkin. We went and celebrated with Ice Cream.
